Truss Flying

This weekend was big for the Kings. We are so excited! We "flew trusses" yesterday, saturday, and thats kinda a big deal in the realms of home building. Trusses are the things that go in the "V" shape on top of your house, so it has that normal roof shape we all look for in order to understand that that building is indeed a home.
So this is what they look like from inside your house:

What happens is you hire a crane for the day (in this case we had the help of Monty, who's slogan for his Crane Service is "hookers wanted" because you need someone to hook the truss onto the crane) and then he lifts it into the air and a person/people are on the house to set the truss in the right place. This is Royce King on the house. He is our fearless neighbor catching the truss and setting it into place and shooting it with his nail gun.

Eddie hurt himself. Its an overuse injury and the Dr. calls it "trigger finger." So he needs to rest it for a couple weeks, in hopes that the rest will take care of the problem. If not, he will need shots. And if not then, he will need surgery. So hopefully it get better. So here we are in our front room.

I live right up the street for a place that makes trusses so I actually know what they are! So exciting.
