Kitchen

Next time I think I might paint my kitchen, please refer me to this post. Hopefully I will then realize that painting your kitchen is a bad idea.
Let me tell you why:

1. Its a slow process. There are so many small areas to paint around.
2. I can't do it alone. Maybe I can when I'm strong enough to move the stove all by my self without scratching our floor. And when my balance is good enough to maneuver my brush above the top cabinets without falling and bumping my brain that is just teetering in delicate balance.
3. Your paint kind of bleeds through the tape and gets on the cabinets. HUGE problem if you just have natural colored cabinets. We'll be painting our cabinets to fix this problem soon enough. Which I head is a disaster, too.

3 is reason enough. But I do love it. I do have a sunny little kitchen! Here are pictures in route to a yellow kitchen. Refer to reason #1 i you're wondering why its not done. Its been a couple weeks.

24

By the way, I had a wonderful birthday! Thanks for the calls and stuff. It was a good day. But you know what the one not so good thing was? Eddie came up with a wonderful party idea last night that we could only do for this year's birthday. So too bad, it will never happen. What was it?

A 24 themed party. We're 24 junkies. I think Jack Bauer is amazing. So a 24 themed party for my 24th birthday! It would probably be more stress than its worth, but we could pretend like I would actually have thrown it!! And one of the party rules would have been to never end a phone call with the words "bye" or "see you later." When you're in my home, I expect a dramatic hang up. And we will have cake, NOW!

So oh well to my not happening party. But I still got a 24 themed card.

Eddie made it. The thought process being that in 24 certain people just don't seem to pay attention to what Jack says, but it they did it wouldn't take a whole 24 hours to fix the problem. It would only take 12. And then the show would be called "12."

In the end, it was a great day. A great 24 hours.

Sad Day for the TBI

My grandma sent me an email last night mentioning a "big story tonight on brain injuries" and how she feels "so blessed to still have [me]." So I thought "WHAT! Big story on brain injuries and I don't even know about it?!" as I am fairly convinced I know everything...
I guess you don't hear much when you just sit in your house painting your kitchen and watching recorded episodes of The Real World (and, naturally, I forward through the commercials) so no news.

But then my know EVERYTHING husband came home and filled me in on pop culture. Liam Neeson's wife, Natasha Richardson, died yesterday. She suffered a TBI on Monday in a skiing accident. She fell but it didn't seem to be very bad. She just kept doing her skiing thing and the about an hour later she started complaining about a headache and went to the hospital.

First off, I want to say that I am so sorry, especially to for husband and two sons, who will miss her more than I could ever know. I tell people that I am so glad it was me who was in the hospital bed and not one of my siblings, parents, or heaven forbid, husband. The strength and pain that her family and loved ones are having to feeling would be too much for me.

Second, has anyone heard of something like this happening before? Maybe not to this extent, but when there is pain, but, "oh, you know, its not too bad. I can deal." And then you find out it really was a big deal. Like the other day I was getting my hair done and my hair stylist ran his hand up the back of my neck (by where my scar is) and all the sudden it hurt so bad! Just for one second. And I didn't say anything because what would I say, "that thing people always do that never hurts hurt really bad. That thing, I'm not sure what it was, hurt, so don't do it again?" I didn't know what it was, but it stopped hurting as fast as it started, so I don't think anything was wrong. But, obviously, Natasha didn't think anything was wrong either. What if something bad happened and suddenly I just keel over and die. I've heard of stuff like this before, like on Oprah they talked about "dry drowning" where about an hour after a kid was in the pool he just died. Scary.

His Life

I told you I'd tell you guys what Eddie's doing these days, so that I will. I'm telling you partly because most of you like him more than me, which I don't believe is legit, but mainly because he is doing SO much. Eddie is wild.

So here is a little recap of his life. Atleast the past few months.

He's been filming different bands when the come to the SLC/Provo area. He contacts the band, make sure its ok, goes to the venue, films the band's set, and then interviews the band. Now the point to this is that he is starting a blog. Its set to launch next month. And they're doing other stuff besides the blog, but the blog is going to be the first public thing. He's been meeting with about 5 other guys and working REALLY hard to get this audio business started. Its called Motorcade Audio, and trust me, I will tell you more about it and post a link to the blog once it actually launches and everything.

And more filming.

And here is one of the bands he filmed and interviewed, Shark Speed.

And he was also Chris Purdie for the Chris Purdie Project. That thing was confusing to me. If you want to know about it, go to Chris's page.

St. Patrick's Day

Yay!!! Just one more excuse to have a party! And party we will. And dress up, no doubt, because as learned by earlier posts, we LOVE to dress up.

First, I want to point something out.

Even google is celebrating. It is kind of scary, but they are trying.

But we'll move on to not so scary forms of celebration.

Eddie is wearing this tie. Just minus the yellow stripes (which is almost the color of our kitchen! Slow process!) but we're just not current enough, so they don't have the exact tie that I got Eddie for Christmas because, well, that was for Christmas and it was on sale then. But, to be exact, it's green knit with a blue stripe or two. HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

And here are my socks.

They really are the focal point of my outfit. I've blogged about their wonderfulness before, but this time they will not be sexy, so get that out of your mind, sicko. They're just green. And that is not Eddie nor I, just the model from American Apparel.

I'm realizing that I like to celebrate holidays. Well I realized that a long time ago, but I'm thinking I really missed the boat and didn't dress up and have a party for the following recent holidays: Groundhogs day (Feb. 2nd), Pi day (HELLO! 3.14! March 14th!), national square root day , and, well, wouldn't it be cool if I celebrated Brain Injury Awareness Month, which is March! I don't know...I'm not sure if that is uplifting enough....like Pi day, so much more uplifting...

But ST. PATRICKS DAY! So great. We even have our own mascot, a Patrick. So go have a good time for the Irish. Even Google is doing it.

Huh?

Ok I saw this sign and I thought I'd share it.

I feel like the only excuse for this sign is if it was found on engrish.com but it wasn't. It was found in this country! Where we are supposed to be pretty good English speakers. So what do we think this sign means? Are they selling your torn up, grilled pet from your childhood days? I don't know about you but I for one really like the thigh of pit bull-- I really like all the muscle. Really? We just don't do that in the country, so I'm assuming they mean that the have bones that they are marketing for you to GIVE to your dog. Which is better. If someone took this sign completely literally, one might think that someone is carving up Fido.

National Square Root Day

Guys! We missed National Square Root day. Or maybe you didn't but I did. Well, Eddie (the Asian- so stereotypically mathematically inclined...) texted me and told me it was square root day but I didn't get it so I just thought "great Eddie. Thats great." as I do need to humor him often. But then, he really told me what it meant and I looked it up and I learned.
It was 3/3/09. 3 X 3 = 9.

AMAZING!!!

There wont be another one until April 4th, 2016.

So I hope you enjoyed your square root day and that you did a celebratory square dance.
